"Always be open to your path and your journey.” These lyrics are words Katie lives by, and the meandering in life is what lead her to yoga in the summer of 2009. She is an avid proponent of travel, learning, and personal evolution. Her yoga practice was a large contributor to the growth-focused space in her life that empowered her to explore, create, and grow authentically, with life, as it unfolds.
Her initial yoga teacher training was in 2010, and she graduated from a 200-hour teacher training in 2012 at CorePower Yoga in Colorado. Since then her interest in different aspects of yoga and it's healing capabilities have lead her to studying SUP yoga with Yoga Kai in Honolulu, advanced asana various hands- on adjustments and energy lock (bandha) workshops at Purple Yoga also in Honolulu, yoga nidra, and the utilization of yoga as a tool in finding empowerment in our own bodies and how we nourish them, with Chelsea Roff with at the 'Eat. Breathe. Thrive.' Foundation.
Katie invites students to become curious about, and authentic in, their own journey, both on and off their mat. Join her on your SUP board for empowering and alignment focused flows, and creative sequences that allow space for growth, giggles, strength and surrender. Be ready to celebrate nature and connect deeply in this unique outdoor, floating 'studio' experience!
Outside of yoga, you will find Katie outside, maybe with her nose in a book, or with a henna cone in her hand— probably on a beach, and definitely with bare feet.
